You don't really know if you're going to like something until you've tried it so this is what we do at Centa Co!
After an initial visit, which we call a "pop in", a new client can come three times for no cost to give things a go. It could be for an hour on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Or it could be three consecutive Mondays in a row. It's up to the client. It also gives us a chance to see if the client is going to be suitable for the day centre.
The person can come accompanied by somebody else, such as a family member or personal assistant, for these three assessment sessions if they wish.
Sometimes what happens is that for the first visit a family member may stay present but then on a second visit the family member it's not present but stays within Chatham so they are available to phone if the client is feeling anxious and wants them to come back.
If it turns out that the client isn't suitable, then we always signpost to another reputable day centre that might provide a more suitable environment for that person.
